Well, it's a relief to be out of school, isn't it? I don't know about the rest of you, but I plan on spending this winter break after Christmas relaxing at home as well as spending much more time than I have available during the year with Vanessa. (I'd also like to work out exactly how I burned through $100 in the last forty-eight hours, but that's not really in the Christmas spirit, is it?) I'd also like to thank everyone who came yesterday, as well as mildly castigate those who failed to provide a justification for their absence. Tsk tsk. I think the party went well, and I especially like the wonderful watch Vanessa gave me (and not a gift of an entirely different ilk, as some—Robbie—are wont to suspect). Regardless, may this holiday season find you and the clichéd "yours" well (not that you shouldn't be well the other eleven months of the year). Happy whatever.

Er, just sort of a general question, does anyone actually have anything positive going on in their lives? I mean, after going over my friends page it seems that everyone has been afflicted with a darkness of the soul. (I've got it too, in case you weren't worried. And no, it isn't about the B or C I probably got on the Spanish exam. I actually had a medium-sized rant all worked out for it, but my heart wasn't in it. I forgot some of it too.)

I sit here writing this roughly 30,000 feet over what I believe is Montana. Or maybe South Dakota. Both of my hands are covered with ink, and my last large meal was ten and a half hours ago. It is now 10:30 PM, Pacific time. (For those of you playing along at home, Pacific time is three hours behind Eastern time. So it's 1:30 AM back home, which, curiously, is where my biological clock is still tuned. But still I sit up, slaving over this plog for your enjoyment. Thank me later. [Editor's Note: Now -- that is, August -- would be good.]) And, unfortunately, the steady drone of the plane's engines means that Rick Wakeman and the London Symphony Orchestra sound decidedly out of tune. A quick dispatch to let you all know that I will completely unavailable basically until the start of band camp. See, my parents are taking all of us on this little thing called a vacation, where we get to spend two weeks in British Columbia. Yay. I've been listening to the new Air America (that's liberal talk radio) station broadcasting out of Miami (940 AM if you care to tune in; the signal's rather weak where I am though). And I've discovered something about myself.

I really don't like talk radio.

Then again, I'd probably like Limbaugh & Co. a thousand times less, but there you go.
