Well, it's a relief to be out of school, isn't it? I don't know about the rest of you, but I plan on spending this winter break after Christmas relaxing at home as well as spending much more time than I have available during the year with Vanessa. (I'd also like to work out exactly how I burned through $100 in the last forty-eight hours, but that's not really in the Christmas spirit, is it?) I'd also like to thank everyone who came yesterday, as well as mildly castigate those who failed to provide a justification for their absence. Tsk tsk. I think the party went well, and I especially like the wonderful watch Vanessa gave me (and not a gift of an entirely different ilk, as some—Robbie—are wont to suspect). Regardless, may this holiday season find you and the clichéd "yours" well (not that you shouldn't be well the other eleven months of the year). Happy whatever. |

Yesterday upon the stair I met a man who wasn't there. He wasn't there again today; I wish that man would go away.
My MIT letter is doing exactly the same thing.... |

And power has been restored here in West Boca as of Thursday afternoon. Ice and hot showers are on the house.
Edit I (10/29, 5:20pm EDT): And it lasts for 12 hours before going out again. The ice and hot showers will have to wait, folks. |

Apparently, there are no two-way streets in Norway.
Sophomores: I talked to Mr. Morone yesterday. He'd never heard my name before. Care to clarify?
And I'm very glad to see that there were no major outbreaks of foot-in-mouth disease this week. (Actually, I'm not, because I had all these great one-liners ready to go. Or not. Kinda lame one-liners, really.) |

Er, just sort of a general question, does anyone actually have anything positive going on in their lives? I mean, after going over my friends page it seems that everyone has been afflicted with a darkness of the soul. (I've got it too, in case you weren't worried. And no, it isn't about the B or C I probably got on the Spanish exam. I actually had a medium-sized rant all worked out for it, but my heart wasn't in it. I forgot some of it too.) |

One year.
Wow.
Honestly, I can't believe it. Really, I can't.
Happy anniversary, Jeanette, and here's for many more. |

I am worried that my family is going to pot.
When my mother yells and screams about some minor trivial detail, I do not worry about my family.
When my father decides to go and play catch or go for a walk in the middle of a hurricane, I do not worry about my family.
When the trust that both of them hold in their eldest son (that's me, folks) suddenly and precipitously drops to zero because his girlfriend is over, I do not worry about my family.
But when my six-year-old brother tries to remove the girlfriend's clothes, then I worry about my family. |

Well, ladies and gents, it's a fine evening today in my LiveJournal Nobody-Has-Any-Idea-What-The-Hell-Is-Going-On Are-We-In-Frantic-Emergency-Mode-Or-Not Information Center About Various Things That A Really Big Glorified Thunderstorm-Of-Doom Named Francis (Because All The Macho Names Were Taken) Is Causing To Happen And Not Happen. In case you hadn't heard, nobody has any idea whether or not school is going to happen tomorrow. Here we have:
| Sources That Say We Have Half A Day Of School Tomorrow: | Sources That Say School's Cancelled Tomorrow: | - Obsolete: Channel 4 -- Apparently they say it's off now
- Obsolete: The School Board, in a press release, possibly from this afternoon
Update: At 9:15, the Board seems to have removed all mention of Frances from the School District web site. Odd. Or maybe the site just went under under the load. Update: Now, at 9:20, the site is loading really slowly, but no sign of any hurricane notice.

My Verdict: Off.
Aside (10:35): Okay, I've had enough of this. School's off, I'm tired, and the whole crisis-show-up-to-an-empty-school-or-not panic has passed, so I'm out.
More info? Confirmation or denial? Leave a comment! Please! I'm depending on you, my loyal readers! |

I thought I was finally going to make it through a year of Spanish class without being called Miguel.
But I was wrong. I am now Miguel, Bajo del Pelo. (Translation: Miguel, Under the Hair.)
C'est la vie. Rather, esto es la vida. |
